Learning Resources
The Internet is a powerful resource tool for both parents and teachers. The links above provide some initial resources, but knowing how to 'Search' the Internet opens the almost unlimited supply of Resources that are available. Below are just a few tips for searching the Internet.
Start out with a broad search first. Then narrow it down as necessary.
Use the singular for your search terms. The term tigers will search for tigers (plural) and may miss tiger (singular). If you search for tiger (singular), you will find both tiger and tigers.
Use + directly in front of word (+pets) to indicate word must be in search results.
Use - directly in front of word (-cats) to indicate word should not be included in search results.
Use quotation marks to indicate words in a phrase ("climb every mountain").
Use AND (capital letters) to join words that must be in search results (climb AND every AND mountain).
Use OR (capital letters) to indicate that at least one of the words must appear in search results (climb OR mountain).
Each Search Site is a little different. Read the instructions carefully at each Search Site in order to get the most from your searches.
