| Project
MAX and
Bright Beginnings |
| are federally funded Migrant
Education Even Start (MEES) projects administered by the
Illinois Migrant Council (IMC) in Chicago and coordinated
through its field office in Princeville. Both projects
are consortiums comprised of the: |
 |
Illinois Migrant
Council |
 |
Illinois Migrant
Head Start |
 |
Illinois Migrant
Education Program, and |
 |
broad-based community
entities |
| devoted to providing a
comprehensive family literacy program for Illinois’
migrant families in a four year MEES Program. |
| The projects incorporate,
and expand upon, successful features from previous MEES
projects in Illinois as well as introduce new concepts
and uniquely integrated services to produce a highly effective
delivery system for including migrant families: |
 |
Integrated early childhood education |
 |
Adult literacy and education |
 |
Parenting education, and |
 |
Parent and child together time. |
